divorce…
divorce. a judicial declaration dissolving a marriage in whole or in part, esp. one that releases the husband and wife from all matrimonial obligations. basically the thing that can split-up, ruin, or fix families. it has the power to traumatize children and trigger hate where there once was love. it also has the power to make or break you-depending on which side you’re on.
people divorce for many reasons like unfaithfulness, poor communication, sexual problems, lack of commitment to the marriage, addiction, failed expectations of your spouse, and/or physical, emotional, or mental abuse. sociologists believe that childlessness is also a common cause of divorce. the absence of children leads to loneliness and weariness, at least 66% of all divorced couples are childless. and according to divorcerate.org: 40% of first time marriages end in divorce, 60% for second time marriages, and 73% for third time marriages.
but divorce isn't really in my vocabulary because as a romanticist i believe that you should only marry your true love only when your ready and when you do that divorce isn't even realistic. in my opinion marriage is the commitment of two people that love each other unconditionally. but if that's only me than that's fine. i guess everyone interprets marriage differently.
